Degrowth Fireside-Chat: Auf dem Weg zu Wohlbefinden, Gesundheit und Fürsorge für alle

Wie können wir ein Wirtschaftssystem kreieren, das nicht mehr Profitwachstum sondern Wachstum unseres Wohlergehens ins Zentrum stellt? Wie könnte eine "One-Planet-Economy" aussehen, die innerhalb planetarer Grenzen gedeiht – und was würde das konkret für unser Gesundheitssystem, unsere Sozialversicherungssysteme, Steuereinnahmen und die Verwendung öffentlicher Gelder bedeuten?

Diese Fragen möchten wir in unserer neuen Veranstaltungsreihe "Degrowth Fireside Chat" angehen.

Im nächsten Degrowth Fireside-Chat diskutieren und beleuchten wir diese Themen mit Bea Albermann, Ärztin und Expertin für planetare Gesundheit. Bea forscht zu Postwachstum und Gesundheit an der Universität Lausanne und koordiniert das nationale PHUSE-Projekt für transformative Bildung zu Planetary Health. Sie hat Medizin an den Universitäten Zürich und Lausanne studiert und arbeitete bei der Weltgesundheitsorganisation und beim Centre for Planetary Health zu systemischer Transformation hin zu Gesundheitsgerechtigkeit innerhalb der planetaren Grenzen. Die ehemalige WHO-Jugenddelegierte wurde international für ihre Arbeit für Gesundheit- und Umweltgerechtigkeit anerkannt, unter anderem durch die Forbers 30 under 30 -Liste, das Mercator Fellowship und zwei TEDx-Vorträge.

Gemeinsam mit Leonard Creutzburg, Co-Leiter One Planet Lab DE und Experten für alternative Wirtschaftsmodelle, werden sie folgende Themen diskutieren:

• Wie sieht das Gesundheitssystem nach dem Wachstumszeitalter aus? Was bedeutet Care- oder Well-Being-Ökonomie und wie weit ist die Schweiz davon entfernt?

• Wie machen wir soziale Systeme unabhängig vom Wachstum?

• Was sind die zentralen Herausforderungen und wie lösen wir sie?

• Worauf müssen wir beim Wandel achten? Wer profitiert, wer verliert? Wie sichern wir Fairness und Inklusion?

• Was können NGOs, Unternehmen, Städte, Kantone und Einzelpersonen konkret tun?

How can we create an economic system that no longer centers on profit growth, but instead focuses on the growth of our well-being? What might a “One-Planet Economy” look like—one that thrives within planetary boundaries—and what would that concretely mean for our healthcare system, social security structures, tax revenues, and the use of public funds?

These are the questions we aim to explore in our new event series, the “Degrowth Fireside Chat.”

In the next Degrowth Fireside Chat, we’ll discuss and examine these topics with Bea Albermann, medical doctor and expert in planetary health. Bea conducts research on post-growth and health at the University of Lausanne and coordinates the national PHUSE project for transformative education in Planetary Health. She studied medicine at the Universities of Zurich and Lausanne and has worked with the World Health Organization and the Centre for Planetary Health on systemic transformation toward health equity within planetary boundaries. As a former WHO youth delegate, she has received international recognition for her work in health and environmental justice—including being featured on the Forbes 30 under 30 list, receiving the Mercator Fellowship, and delivering two TEDx talks.

Together with Leonard Creutzburg, Co-Lead of One Planet Lab DE and an expert in alternative economic models, they will discuss the following topics:

• What will the health system look like after the age of growth? What does a care or well-being economy mean, and how far is Switzerland from achieving it?

• How can we make social systems independent of economic growth?

• What are the main challenges, and how can we solve them?

• What must we pay attention to during this transformation? Who will benefit, who might lose out? How can we ensure fairness and inclusion?

• What concrete actions can NGOs, businesses, cities, cantons, and individuals take?
