More about this event
Dear Stakeholders,
On 5 May, from 9:30 to 12:00, we are pleased to invite you to an invitation-only stakeholder session with selected representatives from Swiss cities and municipalities. The session will explore how the Doughnut Economy framework can be applied in the context of Swiss cities and will be facilitated by Kate Raworth, renowned economist and founder of the Doughnut Economics framework.
The purpose of this session is to engage in a focused and constructive exchange with representatives from both the executive and legislative levels on how cities and municipalities in Switzerland can thrive within planetary boundaries. You are receiving this invitation in recognition of your role as a key driver of transformation in your city. Participants will also gain insights from international examples, including cities such as Amsterdam, which are already applying the framework in practice. The workshop is particularly intended for cities and municipalities that have not yet worked extensively with the Doughnut Economy framework but are interested in exploring its potential.
Kate Raworth is an ecological economist and author of the internationally best‑selling book Doughnut Economics: Seven Ways to Think Like a 21st‑Century Economist, published in more than 20 languages. Her work has influenced audiences ranging from the UN General Assembly and Pope Francis to David Attenborough and Extinction Rebellion. She is also co‑founder of the Doughnut Economics Action Lab and Senior Teaching Fellow at Oxford University’s Environmental Change Institute.
The workshop will take place in Zurich, close to the main train station. Further details regarding the programme and exact location will be shared in the coming weeks.
If you would like to attend, we kindly ask you to register via the ticketing below.
As the number of seats is limited, we kindly request that this invitation is not forwarded. Should you wish to suggest another individual whom you believe would be particularly well suited to participate, please do not hesitate to contact us.
We would be delighted to welcome you to this session.
Kind regards,
Laurène Descamps, in the name of One Planet Lab
